Collaborative Autism Team Meeting

Please mark your calendar: The next meeting of the Collaborative Autism Team initiative will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 pm in the new ICCSD Board Room (flier with details is attached). Parents, school staff, and EVERYONE interested in the autism spectrum is strongly encouraged to attend.Also attached is the list of ideas collected from all who participated the first meeting in April 2011. The agenda will include:Recap results of our last meeting (April 2011).Introduce new Special Services Director, Rozy Warder.Programming for Autism: How to Go from Good to Great.New self-assessment initiatives will be explained by top ICCSD administrators with Sue Baker, Iowa Department of Education.Question and Answer Session.What's Next?Collaborative Autism Team Purpose: Provide an avenue for parents to have an open dialogue with ICCSD administrators and staff regarding best practices for students with autism spectrum disorders, and share information about resources and learning opportunities. The goal is improved outcomes for all ASD students, so these meetings are to focus on the big picture rather than personal stories.
