CHS Homecoming Parade!

It's that time of year again. Time to put on your favorite Hoover T-Shirt and show some school spirit.

If you're looking for more information about the parade, here's the skinny...

The parade is on SEPTEMBER 22

Kids should be lined up around 5:15 pm in the Mercer Park parking lot (see link for map below). We suggest at least 3 adults be with each group of kids from each school to chaperone the event. Parents are welcome to march in the parade as well; there is not a limit to the number of kids or adults. The best place to park is near the Mercer Park Aquatic Center or in the extended parking lot to the east (near the baseball diamonds). The parade begins at 6 pm.

The parade will go to Bates Field at City High (a 1.3 mile walk, should take 20-30 minutes). After the parade, elementary school participants are invited to gather on the Hoover Elementary playground for a snack. Hoover is adjacent to City High on the corner of First Avenue and Court Street.

Families attending the parade can park at Mercer Park, City High, on side streets near City High, or even in the First Avenue Hy Vee parking lot’s outer edges.

Look for the permission slip to come home in the Hoover Headlines soon. You will need to have the permission slip signed and returned to school prior to the parade so that your child can march.
