Hoover Hillside Erosion Issue:We are looking for a couple of parents that would help address the erosion on Hoover’s campus. Of immediate note is the fall hazard along the sidewalk serving the southeast entrance at the top of the hill. The turf is gone and there’s a good 5” drop from the sidewalk. Additionally, protecting the maple tree with exposed roots is a priority.
John Rutherford has graciously offered to be the point person on this project, but needs assistance proposing an action plan that addresses resources, timeline, funding, PTA support, and volunteers. Please email John (john-rutherford@uiowa.edu) if you can help. John has information from Project Green, MMS plans and recommendations, and also been in contact with ICCSD. Again, looking for just a few parents willing to consult and create a plan of action.
